Valve Pressure Test Benches — DN15 to DN600, hydrostatic and pneumatic
Changxun builds valve pressure test benches for the strength test, seat leakage test and back-seat test of butterfly, gate, ball, check and globe valves. Clamping force runs from 30 to 150 tons, test pressure up to 40 MPa with water, and the control level can be manual, PLC or a fully automatic multi-station line. Every bench is built to the size range and medium you actually test — not to a catalogue standard.
How to choose the right bench
Three questions decide the model:
- What sizes do you test? The size range fixes the clamping force and the plate size. DN15–DN150 needs about 30 t; DN50–DN300 about 80 t; DN350–DN600 about 126–150 t.
- What pressure and what medium? Water up to 40 MPa covers most strength tests. If your valves go into gas service you also need a pneumatic test, which is where the water–air dual-purpose benches come in.
- How many valves per shift? A single-station bench is enough for a repair shop. A plant testing hundreds of valves a day needs two or four stations, with automatic judging and printed records.
Models
Models without their own page yet are documented in the Chinese catalogue — ask us for the English datasheet and we will send it by email.
Tests a bench can perform
- Strength (shell) test — body integrity, normally at 1.5 times the nominal pressure
- Seat leakage test (lower seal) — bubble count or pressure drop, judged against API 598 / ISO 5208 / GB/T 13927
- Back-seat test (upper seal) — for rising-stem gate and globe valves
- Pneumatic tightness test — air or nitrogen, for valves in gas service
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a hydrostatic and a pneumatic test?
A hydrostatic test pressurises the valve with water, which stores almost no energy, so it is safe at high pressure and is used for the strength test. A pneumatic test uses air or nitrogen, which stores a lot of energy if the body fails — it is therefore run at lower pressure and is used where a water residue is unacceptable or where the specification requires a gas test.
Can one bench cover several valve sizes?
Yes. The sealing plates are interchangeable, so one bench covers a size range — typically DN15–DN150, DN50–DN300 or DN350–DN600. A wider range usually means more than one plate set, not a second machine.
Do you supply the English manual and the PLC programme?
Yes. Each machine ships with an English operation manual, the electrical wiring diagram, a backup of the PLC programme and a set of spare sealing elements.
How do I get a price?
Send the valve types you test, the size range in DN, the required test pressure and the medium (water, air or both). We reply within 12 working hours with a model recommendation, a datasheet and a price.
